Brushing my teeth in the dark

Sterling loves to brush his teeth right now...especially when he gets to use his light. See, he can't reach the light-switches in the bathroom, so he gets the light from his workbench and uses it like a flashlight. We keep the light off in the bathroom so he can brush his teeth with his light. (The light from the bedroom gives enough light to see if we are actually getting them clean Ü.) Of course if Sterling does it, Hannah wants to as well.

Soggy and Wet

We got this little sprinkler for the kids to play in. It comes with some ball and the frog spits them out at you. They were having a blast with it. They didn't like the sprinkler part to high, but they had fun. They eventually started getting a mouthful (and face-full) of water. They are really into this spitting thing right now. It goes something like this: Get a mouthful, go somewhere else and spit it out...I don't get it, but they seem to enjoy it, and they were watering the garden at the same time, so I won't complain. Ü The first picture is Sterling putting the ball in the frogs mouth...the second if you look at it right, you can see it popping out by Hannah's knee. We had a really good rain storm a few days ago...this is picture of the river running down our backyard. I'm showing this picture because the ground gets ultra saturated and the amount of rain we got, just made huge puddles everywhere... ...so, when we went for a walk this morning with the neighbor and her little boy, we decided to top at the park (it's still pretty soggy.) They played on the slides for a while, then they saw a puddle. They didn't want to get in trouble so first they just looked at it, then they touched it, and then walked around it, before long they were running through it, splashing, doing sits and all sorts of playing around. They were soaked clear through (just in time for the sun to go behind a cloud.) They were so wet, they all rode home in their "skivvies". I didn't have my camera at the park, but these are their clothes...I purposely left out the "dirty water" colored undies Ü. They had a blast, but were happy to be home in a nice warm tub. It probably wasn't warm enough for playing in the water, but they sure enjoyed themselves.

Spring is in the air and we can finally go outside!

We actually got to enjoy our tulips this year...no major wind storms to blow them to pieces. I really need to find some "wind proof" spring flowers...any suggestions? We are building the kids a swingset/slide/sandbox/fort playset...this is the sandbox part; they love playing in it, if only we could get them to learn the "sand stays in the sand box!" Sterling is trying to have a "nice smile." I'll put some more pictures of the playset on soon.Sterling just learn to pedal his bike. He's been watching the neighbor boy ride by for the past 2 years and finally decided it was his turn to ride past their house. As soon as he rode past the neighbor boy, he said "Hi" just like the neighbor always does when he goes past our house. Hannah wants to be just like her older brother. She put the helmet on all by herself and can even climb on by herself. She wants help, but doesn't want your hand on the bike...you have to be pretty sneaky to push her along without her knowing. The remainder of the pile of sand from the driveway is the second sandbox. They decided the car needed a bath after filling it with sand.
